  1. I don't think you should be so apologetic. There are serious problems with large prizes like the Polaris, and, as you said on your show, this prize in particular has (to some extent) failed in its mission to showcase and support lesser known bands, most of which occupy more obscure genres such as noise, punk, jazz and improv, etc.

    That said, I really enjoyed the releases by The Wooden Sky, the Sadies, and Caribou, but I don't think any of them will win.

    YSP! WSD! on the list? Pfft.

    Who should have been nominated? I need to think about that some more...

  2. I think Shad should and will win, given that there hasn't been a hip-hop win yet, and that TSOL is amazing.
